Baby Elephant Throws The Most Adorable Tantrum In The Dirt

Sometimes, it’s good to take a break every once in a while and spend some time pampering yourself.

A couple of lucky tourists got to witness a herd of elephants passing right in front of them. As if that wasn’t awesome enough, a baby elephant wanders into the frame “looking like Bambi on ice.” For the next 60 seconds, this little guy takes enjoys some quality private time, rolling in the dirt, scratching his back, and flopping around like the goofy little elephant he is. I’ve never seen anything like it! While I’ll admit I was a little worried about this adorable baby when he first laid down, it soon becomes clear that he just needed to take a little “me time” after trying to keep up with his family in the sun all day. Some say he’s throwing a tantrum, others think he’s simply itchy. Whatever the case may be, it doesn’t hurt that this heart-tugging moment is set to Harry Belafonte’s “Banana Boat Song,” which couldn’t be any more perfect.

You gotta give it to Mom and Dad for being so patient, walking back and forth until he finally decides to rejoin the herd. This is one adorable little calf!

Elephants are known to roll around in the dirt, throwing dust on themselves for protection from the sun and bugs, and to keep themselves cool.
