We always hesitate a few moments to decide how much we should leave as tip for the person who serves us at a restaurant. But these two customers at Busboys & Poets in Washington D.C. didn’t considerate a second thought about it, they even aimed much, much higher.

Rosalynd Harris is a black waitress who happen to serve a table of white Texan men wearing cowboy hats. With only few days after Rosalynd had participated in the Women’s March; the men were in town for Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Keeping in mind that these men have different opinions during such critical season, this situation could have turn into an uneasy one. However, everything took an unexpected turn and became totally the opposite of what Rosalynd thought.

The men left, so Rosalynd went to the table to clear it, then she couldn’t believe it when she saw the numbers on the receipt: a $450 tip for a “subtotal” of $72.60. But wait, along with this huge tip, came a note.

The handwritten note read: “We may come from different cultures and may disagree on certain issues, but if everyone would share their smile and kindness like your beautiful smile, our country will come together as one people. Not race. Not gender. Just American. God Bless!”
