After his wife did a dead-on impersonation of his iconic role in the “Magic Mike” movies, it seemed hunky movie star Channing Tatum was going to have to concede defeat in the couple’s recent faceoff on Spike TV’s “Lip Sync Battle.” Instead, Tatum brought in a super-secret weapon: the Queen B.
Dressed in drag and backed up by a host of high-energy dancers while he performed to Beyoncé’s “Run the World (Girls),” Tatum saved the best for last as Beyoncé Knowles herself strolled onto the stage and went to work beside the dolled-up Tatum. Of course the studio audience exploded and Jenna Dewan Tatum’s mouth dropped in shock, as seen in a report by Cosmopolitan.
Dewan Tatum had seemed the sure winner of the matchup moments earlier when she emulated Tatum’s power-tool-fueled dance from “Magic Mike XXL,” giving her husband a lap dance to top it off. Tatum gave his wife the business on social media the next day, tweeting “Mic dropppppped.”
The video performance has become one of the quickest-rising sensations on YouTube this week, with close to 17 million views and more than 128,000 “likes” in the first 72 hours since being uploaded.
Host LL Cool J declared the battle a tie, saying the trophy would go to the same house regardless, according to the Cosmopolitan story.
