It’s been nearly 40 years since the world lost The King of Rock & Roll, but he’s still as well-loved as when he first emerged on TV swinging his hips back in 1956.

Over the last few decades, there have been a lot of musicians who have tried to recreate the success of Elvis Presley, but not one of them has compared to his talent, versatility and mass appeal. He’s influenced everyone from Bob Dylan, Johnny Cashand Bruce Springstein to Madonna, Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars, but there is one up-and-coming artist he would be very proud to know is following in his footsteps.

Meet 12-year-old Lauren Marie Presley. Her father was a distant cousin of Elvis’ and at such a young age she has big dreams of Nashville and beyond. The best part about this young girl is that she doesn’t even need to rely on her famous last name – she has the right amount of talent and determination to make her own success story.
