They always say two heads are better than one, and there isn’t anyone who would agree more than the parents of twin babies. With that in mind, it seems St. Vincent’s Private Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, must be blessed!

Seven years ago in 2008, the nursery welcomed eight sets of mixed gender twins at the very same time. This June, the hospital had another anomaly: five sets of twin girls, all premature, and all completely stunning.

“There’s no twins in the family at all, so it was a big shock when the scan came back as two babies,” said mother Linda Leverton. “I think I am going to have a very pink house very soon,” joked the dad. The couple is excited to welcome their two baby girls home, but in the meantime, they’ll be visiting them in the nursery they share with three other sets of the five pairs.

Eight of the precious little ones were so small, they had to be placed in the Special Care Nursery. The smallest being newborns Poppy weighing in at 4.6 pounds and Isabella weighing in at 3.7 pounds. Although life at the maternity ward has been a bit busier for the nurses, the hospital was happy to be the birthplace of so many little miracles.

Doctors say twins are becoming more popular as more mothers use IVF to get pregnant. We have to say, that’s a beautiful result of modern medicine providing for mothers who so badly want children but have difficulty conceiving!
