If you have ever been the guardian or even responsible for other people’s children, you know what a burden and responsibility is on your back when you take care of other people’s children.
There are many educators who take this responsibility and work very seriously and undoubtedly do more than their parents want!
Kirsten cared for Miles George and Farrah Roscoe for three weeks, but when the life of one of them was in danger, Kirsten had to make a terrible decision that changed her life.
Kirsten Miles, a 22-year-old student from New Jersey, had to work to support her studies. She contacted the Roscoe family through a friend and immediately began working for them.
Kirsten quickly became friends with the couple’s three children, especially their youngest daughter, Thalia.
The sad news came and the doctor told Talia that she needed a new liver, that she had a very rare and life-threatening liver disease, and that Kirsten wasn’t going to suggest that part of her liver could help.
George, Farrah and Roscoe were skeptical at first, with Kirsten explaining how serious her proposal was. Donating a piece of liver is not the same as donating blood, requiring invasive surgery and many risks.
Kirsten was true to her decision and immediately applied for Thalia’s donation, and as soon as she received the test results, Kirsten was the perfect match for Thalia!
Talia’s parents were more than happy and grateful for Kirsten’s selfless act, but did not push Kirsten to make a decision and did not want to regret it later.
Kirsten, of course, did not regret it, and on January 11, 2017, she and Talia went to the hospital for a 14-hour operation.
Doctors gave Kirsten anesthesia, removed part of his liver and transplanted baby Talia.
Fortunately, thanks to the wonderful surgeons, the transplant operation was a success and Talia and Kirsten recovered quickly.
Today Thalia is refreshed and does everything a baby needs, and now she can play, run and eat like never before!
Kirsten should sincerely accept her wonderful “thank you” gesture. Some people really have a heart of gold!
Kirsten gave us hope and support in a cruel cold world, and still does!
