Spring and fall are lovely and winter can be fun, but there’s really nothing like basking in the heat of summer.
Once the weather gets warmer and the sun shines bright, it’s hard to keep me indoors, but with the good always comes the bad and I’ve learned you have to be prepared for what life throws at you. Between bad sunburns that can have lasting effects to accidents like this man’s margarita-making disaster, just because summer is full of fun times, doesn’t mean it’s always easy. However, to me, the biggest nuisance of all is preventing those awful, itchy, and unsightly bug bites.
Lyme disease-causing ticks aren’t the only thing you have to watch out for when you’re outdoors. Mosquitoes can carry life-threatening diseases like West Nile Virus and Malaria, but they’re also annoying little monsters that do nothing but drive us crazy during the summer! Having citronella candles in your yard (learn how to make your own here!) can help and there are a few nontoxic bug spray recipes out there, but I prefer keeping all the mosquitoes at bay, by creating the awesome bug trap that we see in this next video.
The reason this easy tutorial from CrazyRussianHacker is so great is that you probably have everything you need (sugar, yeast and an empty plastic bottle) at home, but I think I might be investing in more to keep the mosquitoes away for as long as possible!
