All stages of parenting have their challenges. Having a baby means 2 A.M. feedings, constant crying, and never-ending diaper changes. Once the kids are a bit older things seem to get easier. Then there comes a time when parents are bombarded with difficult questions from their curious young ones. Some parents dread having “The Talk” where their children ask them questions about sex and sexuality.
In an article for WebMD, Dr. Louanne Cole Weston recommends having discussions with your children about their bodies earlier than you might expect. Weston’s advice is to avoid having a large talk about sexuality later in a child’s life; instead, Weston says it’s best to answer your children’s questions honestly as they ask them. This way, your child learns to come to you for support in the future. Weston adds, “If you talk about sexual matters from the beginning of a child’s use of language, there never needs to be the big ‘birds and bees talk.’ It’s just a series of small conversations spread out over many years.”
For the parent in this video that time comes a bit sooner than expected. The mother is thrown completely off guard and doesn’t know exactly how to respond to her daughter’s question, “What’s virgin mean?” The mother’s eventual response is humorous, but the truly hilarious point in the video comes at the end when her daughter asks a follow-up question.
This video illustrates that even the awkward or difficult moments of parenthood have a funny side. If you found this funny, make sure to share it with your friends! You don’t have to be a parent to laugh at this great scene.
