The family is grateful to the smart boatmen who helped rescue their beloved dog, which was found swimming in the middle of the sea off the coast of Florida.

According to family members, a dog named Zuko jumped into the boat and was quietly lost at sea.

A group of friends sailing half a mile off the coast of Fort Lauderdale noticed Zuko walking alone.

One of the friends dived into the water, dragged him into the boat and took him to safety. They checked Zuko’s collar and finally returned it to the owner, who was looking for the dog on the beach.

“They saved my little puppy and saved me and my family,” said owner Zuko.

The vet said the dog was okay.

If Zuko decides to swim again, he will be better prepared. His family says he now has a life jacket.
