This is one of those videos that just hits you. A couple of guys decided to see what happens when they give a homeless man a mini-makeover and have him ask for change on the street. They compare this to when he asks for change in the exact same spot, but dressed in his usual attire as a homeless guy. While I’m not entirely shocked at the results, there’s something about seeing both scenarios compared sided-by-side that leaves me in disbelief. I’d like to think that I’d be one of the people who would still give change to a homeless-looking man, but this video has shown me how much we rely on a person’s appearance to dictate our actions towards them.

According to the 2013 Annual Homeless Assessment Report, in the United States there were 610, 042 homeless people reported on a given night in January 2013. As a company based in San Francisco, homelessness is something we come across on a daily basis. Videos like this help remind us to think twice the next time we encounter a homeless person during our daily routine.
