Household chores, paying bills, raising kids, and much, much more. If we’re not careful, each day can start to feel like an endless “to do” list that takes all of the enjoyment out of our lives.
All of this sounds pretty bleak and stressful, but life doesn’t have to be that way. Whether we like it or not, our responsibilities aren’t going away any time soon. But, that doesn’t mean that we should stop trying to have fun and enjoy the little things in everyday life that make us happy and bring a smile to our faces.
It may be easier said than done, but each of us should try to find the fun in everyday things, even in our neverending “to do” lists. We can try to approach even the most mundane tasks with a sense of humor and a positive attitude that can change the way we feel about those “chores.”
Hate sitting in traffic or on the bus/subway on the way to work? Listen to some of your favorite music or an entertaining audiobook or podcast? No one likes paying bills, but after it’s done, set aside a little bit of money to do something fun. Housework and chores got you down? Dance along to some tunes or make a game out of it with your family or spouse!
There are a lot of ways to feel better about our routine and get out of the rut, and one way is to spend some time in nature. Just stepping outside or even walking around the block can shift our perspective. If you can, plan a whole day outside. Even better, arrange to make some new friends — like this playful horse and his canine and human pals!
Spending time with friends is a great way to de-stress, though I doubt this horse has very much to worry about. He gets to spend his days playing with his owner and a few playful dogs. The best thing about this video is not just the playfulness of everyone involved, but the laughter and the background that lets us know that everyone is having a fantastic time.
