4-year-old Dachshund Lola needed $6000 surgery for a slipped disc in her back. She couldn’t walk, and she needed a life-saving procedure. The only problem? Her owners, Sumey and David, couldn’t afford it. So, they had to make the most difficult decision of all. Heartbroken and defeated, they had to give Lola to a local animal rescue group.
But then, a miracle.
Veterinarian Michael Wong learned the family couldn’t afford the operation, and that Lola would be homeless as a result. He decided to do the unthinkable this holiday season, andperform the surgery for free. Not only that, but he reached out to the shelter to get the couple their beloved dog back. Sumey had no idea of the surprise in store, while husband David knew the plan beforehand. He watched in excitement as Dr. Wong told the couple that Lola was on the mend — and home for the holidays.
What an amazing end to this holiday tale.
