Homelessness is a problem faced by any society in the world today. homelessness has always been a problem.

All you need to be homeless is enough food to feed yourself and your family, and hopefully you will soon have your own home. This is exactly what this young girl hopes for.

Even at a young age, 9-year-old Hayley Fort proves that Kitsap can do more for her ward than most adults.

Already at the age of nine, he understands the problems many homeless people face. He recalls: “I was with my mother and saw this man on the side of the road. When I asked him what he was doing, he said that I was homeless. ”

When she was only six years old, he did not understand what it meant to be homeless. My mother, Miranda Fort, explained to him that a gentleman sitting by the side of the road might not have enough food and a comfortable home to get to him.

That’s all you need to know to be ready to help Hayley. Hayley and her mother bought this heavy sandwich that day. Little did her mother know that this simple life lesson she taught that day would open Hale’s heart to the homeless.

What he learned that day inspired him to go to kindergarten. He thought it would be his way to help the homeless. By giving them everything she collected in her garden, the homeless get healthy food anyway.

Miranda originally helped Hailey in the garden. But at 9 years old, Hayley took full responsibility for her garden. Through his persistence, he was able to donate hundreds of pounds of vegetables to the homeless every year.

In 2015, Haley calculated that she spent an hour each day tending her garden. This is because he personally brings the harvest. His horticultural initiative, now known as Haley Harvest, soon became a side project for something else.

That same year, Hayley began building a small homeless shelter in her community with a $ 3,000 grant from the nonprofit Rise Together.

Haley used her grandfather’s plans and designs to build a 32-square-foot wooden house that could comfortably accommodate one person. The temporary shelter is well separated by windows and lockable doors. They needed $ 300 to build each home, and thanks to community donations this year, they were able to build a total of 12 shelters.

But this is just the beginning for Hayley Fort. This little girl dreams not of herself, but of other people whom she can help. Now 15, she continues to help those most in need.
