Filipino Girl Group Gets Standing Ovation From Simon Cowell

It’s no secret that Simon Cowell is a tough critic, but one female act who flew all the way to England to be on X Factor UK got his stamp of approval.

A Filipino girl group called 4th Power put on quite a show when they performed Christina Aguilera’s “Show Me How You Burlesque” from the 2010 film Burlesque.

The four sisters, Mylene, Celina, Irene, and Almira (ages 19–27), started in a cappella and then broke out into dance when the upbeat music started. (Just wait til you hear the note one of the sisters belts at the 2:20 mark!)

It didn’t take long for Cowell to express his amazement, much like the time he saw the incredible 160-plus-piece Welsh choir perform.

By the two-minute mark, Mr. Cowell was snapping his fingers. And at the end of the performance he even jumped out of his seat for a standing ovation.

“I think you are actually amazing,” Cowell told them. “I am thrilled that you have chosen this show, this country, to compete in.”

Fellow judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini was just as marveled by these talented gals.

“You know what? I don’t think that you’re amazing. I think that you are phenomenal,” she said. “You and I together can create magic.”

Of course these four sisters remained in the competition after the dynamite routine.
