It is a stressful moment for any family when a newborn has to spend some time in a NICU (neonatal intensive care unit). During that time, it is only the medical staff who can take care of the infant. The family can only watch without taking part and can sometimes be requested not to be around. Luckily, the stress which is brought about by the separation has been lessened by a new technology which has been put in place by hospitals.

Staff Sergeant Sam is one of those who have experienced the benefits of the new technology. A month ago her daughter was born while he was on deployment. She the birth was a premature one, it meant the infant had to spend some days in the NICU. Despite being away, he was able to watch her little daughter at any time through the help of Angel Eye – which is a video technology that the University of Kansas has put in place.

With a mobile device and a secure internet connection, a parent can watch a real-time video of an infant under NICU using the technology.

Kindly watch the awesome technology in the clip below and let us know what you think about it!
