rendan Motill was left stunned when a customer at Smokey Barque in Frankfort, IL left him a $1,000 tip.

It was a slow day at work. so Brendan began to chat with a customer about his life and recent move into town. The conversation couldn’t have lasted more than 10 minutes.

Then something amazing happened. When Brendan handed the man his bill that totaled a little over $20, the man cracked a joke as he handed Brendan his credit card.

“I hope it goes through!” Brendan says the man said. Brendan looked at the bill and saw that he had left him a $1,000 tip.

“He left me the tip, and by the time I got it, he was gone,” he said. “Very humble. Left before I could even thank him. I was speechless.”

I can’t help but wonder if this is the same mysterious patron who left a waitress a $3,000 tip!

With the tip came a note that explained why he was so generous. It read:

“You’re doing a great job as a server. I don’t know what your hopes and dreams are in this life, but I hope this tip helps. My hope is that people were more peaceful to each other. The world can be so negative, I commit random acts of kindness to let others know there can be another way.”

Brendan was left in shock. “It was really emotional,” he told reporters. “I had to take a second and calm down.”

He says he is going to use the money for college and hopes to be an accountant some day.
