When we here at viral tales first saw this unique little creature, we had no clue what we were looking at. Is it an armadillo? Is it a dinosaur? Is it even a real?
Well, after a bit of research, we found out that this adorable little guy is known as a Pangolin.
This scaly little wonder is too cute to mention. According to Wikipedia, their scales are gentle in their baby years, but as they mature, they harden and stiffen up. Another interesting fact about those scales is that they’re made of keratin. Which, coincidentally, is the same substance that our nails are made of.
The Pangolin, at first glance, appears to be a mixture of a couple different species. With a tongue similar to an anteater, the Pangolin also has a defense mechanism similar to that of a skunk. Also, when these nocturnal cuties get hungry, they use their enhanced sense of smell to hunt down those much needed insects.
This particular footage is of a baby Pangolin being cared for at the Taipei Zoo. The careful regiment this newborn Pangolin undergoes is specifically designed to clean their sensitive bodies with ease.
We can’t get enough of this little guy, but we’d like to know how you felt about it. Let us know your thoughts and feelings in the comment section below.
